HELLO.
July 2025 UPDATE
My studio at the Eno Arts Mill in Hillsborough, NC was flooded with 3 feet of river water on the evening of July 6th and as a result I am temporarily displaced and unable to dye. I'm working on setting up an interim space while the Mill is closed for construction. I lost about 1/2 of what was in my studio - including machines, paper patterns, my own work, books, supplies and fabric.
Might be just sewing IONA label clothing for a bit - we'll see what can be done! I am definitely working towards teaching more in the fall of 2025, so keep your eyes peeled for that info on the WORKSHOPS page. Open studios on First Fridays are on hold for now, and our Community Craft Lab was cancelled for July as most of my supplies & books will need to be replaced. We are working on a new location for August!
Meanwhile, an absolutely huge THANK YOU to my beautiful community here and EVERYONE at the Mill & Orange County Arts Commission who helped with the muddy parts and the money parts (especially Meg and Patrick at Sew Liberated). I could not have saved as much as I did without you all.
************************
IONA Clothing is the result of many years spent sewing clothes, teaching sewing and working in the garment industry. I love clothes, but I don't love how we produce them. So I'm here to explore a more sustainable and humane method of getting comfortable and beautiful garments out of my head and into your hands!
Currently, I am exploring ice-dyeing and low immersion dyeing, fabric painting & stamping, fabric block printing and embroidery.
